Shaping: Powdered Metal
Powdered Metallurgy is the process of blending various powdered metals and bonding them to create products.
Special types of hydraulic presses are used to compress the powdered metal in dies (molds). It is then sintered at high temperatures to bond the particles resulting in high density parts.
This process offers many benefits such as lower cost due to little or no waste and minimal machining, the ability to create complex shapes, excellent part-to-part consistency, exceptional surface finish, product reliability and strength. Powdered Metallurgy also offers many customization possibilities as well as the ability to blend metals in order to obtain desired properties.
